Since then Nishma has been practising the art of dentistry in general and cosmetic practices in south London and Hertfordshire before settling to live and work in Bishop’s Stortford in 2011.
She has been voted one of the top 50 most influential dentists in the country by ‘Dentistry’ magazine, for the past two years running and founded the pan-profession ‘Diversity in Dentistry Action Group’ which she Chairs. She mentors newly qualified dentists, advises ministers and helps inform policy within the office of the Chief Dental Officer and has been invited to present at numerous conferences both here and abroad.
Nishma is a general, family, cosmetic and preventative dentist; enabling her to take care of all of your oral health and cosmetic needs. She believes in the fundamental principles of minimally invasive and preventative dentistry and has a meticulous eye for aesthetic work. She is a strong believer of empowering patients to take control of their own oral health via education and providing all options so patients can make informed decisions to suit personal needs and budgets.
Nishma is a skilled practitioner of the cosmetic tooth-friendly ‘composite-bonding’ technique which provides an ethical solution to aesthetic dentistry. These are appropriate in minor alignment issues, discolourations and teeth needing rehabilitation due to excessive wear.
Nishma has a certificate in ‘CFast’, an alternative to Invisalign, to provide affordable cosmetic braces in very short periods of time with fantastic results.
Nishma’s informal and chatty manner help put patients at ease, whilst her gentle and experienced clinical ability make seeing the dentist as pleasant as possible.
Outside of work, Nishma enjoys freelance writing, interior design and bungee-jumping; all whilst being mummy of two and a feral hamster…!
